Extured and smooth geomembrane
1, Rough textured geomembrane is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane with a specially treated surface and a rough texture. It is mainly used in projects that increase friction and anti-slip performance, such as landfills, tailings ponds, reservoirs, slope reinforcement, dam canals, chemical plants, gold mine heap leaching tanks, etc. Rough textured geomembranes can be divided into single rough textured geomembranes, double rough textured geomembranes, and column point textured geomembranes. Textured geomembrane minimum thickness is at least 1.2 mm.
2, Smooth geomembrane uses high-density polyethylene (HDPE) particles as raw materials and is produced through blow molding or calendering. Its main components include 97.5% high-density polyethylene and about 2.5% carbon black, anti-aging agents, antioxidants, UV absorbers, stabilizers and other auxiliary materials. Smooth geomembrane is a geotechnical product manufactured by machining technology, which has the characteristics of high strength, good anti-seepage ability, chemical stability, no chemical pollution and good adhesion. Smooth geomembrane is widely used in waterproofing, isolation and reinforcement projects, which can increase the diversity of product uses and ensure that the product is not easily damaged. The main construction projects include agriculture, industry, chemical industry, transportation, roads, tunnels, landfills, tailings dams, algae, fish, shrimp and irrigation pond liner laying.
Main Function of HDPE Geomembrane :
Separation
One of the most important functions of geomembrane is its excellent seepage control performance. As geomembrane has a high degree of sealing, it can effectively prevent the infiltration of water or liquid, and is widely used in engineering projects to prevent water pollution. For example, at landfills, geomembranes are used to prevent waste leachate from entering the groundwater system. In the construction of reservoirs, ponds or other water storage facilities, geomembranes are also effective in preventing water leakage.
Pollution prevention
Geomembranes also have the function of isolating and preventing the spread of pollutants. In the field of waste disposal, sewage treatment, geomembrane can prevent harmful substances or pollutants from spreading to the surrounding environment, and protect soil, water and air from pollution. For example, in waste dumping sites, geomembranes, as barrier materials, can prevent toxic wastewater or chemical substances from penetrating into the groundwater and protect the surrounding ecological environment.
Reinforcement
To a certain extent, geomembranes can enhance the stability of the soil and prevent the soil from being eroded due to water flow or other external forces. In some areas where the soil is susceptible to water erosion or foundation impact, the geomembrane can enhance the soil’s resistance to scouring, thus improving the stability of the entire soil body.
Protective
Modern geomembranes are usually made of chemically resistant materials such as polyethylene (HDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), etc., which are able to resist erosion by a wide range of chemicals. This makes the application of geomembranes in special environments such as the treatment of toxic wastes, acidic and alkaline wastewater, etc. much more widespread and effective. For example, at the bottom of chemical storage tanks, geomembranes can avoid chemical leakage and pollution.
